About Shira Route

Shira route is very similar to the Lemosho route, accessing Kilimanjaro from the West beginning with a long drive from Moshi to Shira Ridge. The beautiful of Shira is due to it crosses the spectacular Shira Plateau, and then combines with the Lemosho and Machame route to share the viewpoints around the Southern Circuit. Shira has low traffic until it combines with Machame route. This difficult route allows for good acclimatization, provided you are fine starting at a high altitude.
